1.Flights

There are direct flights from many foreign destinations into Galeão, the international airport of Rio de Janeiro. However, if you are arriving in São Paulo, we recommend booking a connecting flight from São Paulo to Aeroporto Santos Dumont (SDU), which is the local airport located closest to the city center and most hotels. 

After landing, you can take a taxi, call an Uber, or book a transfer service in advance.

DO YOU NEED A VISA?

U.S., Canadian, and Australian passport holders require a visa to visit Brazil for tourism. If you hold a European or South American passport, you most likely do not need a visa, but please confirm by visiting the Brazil e-visa website here. 

Please ensure you have a valid passport for at least six months after your planned travel date.

Applying for an e-Visa
You can conveniently apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) online. Here's a step-by-step guide:

2. Create an account:

Click "Sign Up" and follow the prompts to create a login and receive a verification code

(One-Time Password).

3. Start your application:

Once logged in, you'll be guided through the application process.

4. Required documents:

You'll need a clear picture of your passport and a recent 3x5 digital photo (a selfie with a white background works perfectly). Don't worry about filling out the additional document sections; they're not required for this visa type.

5. Cost and processing time:

The e-Visa costs $80.90, is valid for ten years with multiple entries, and is typically processed within five business days. However, we recommend applying at least two months before your travel date to allow for any unforeseen delays. You can track your application status after submission.

6. Upon Arrival in Brazil

Present a printed copy of your approved e-Visa and your passport to immigration officials. It's a good idea to bring two printed copies and keep a digital copy on your phone for easy access.
